Birdflop is a nonprofit that enables students, teachers, and hobbyists to build new ideas with technology.
Birdflop's mission is to promote and encourage interest in technology and computer science, generally but not exclusively through affordable and accessible virtual server hosting.
The best way to get interested in computers is to build something with one: a school project, a website, a game server, a first program. We lower the cost and setup barriers to doing so.
A free browser-based IDE and classroom management platform. Students work in Linux environments with an editor and terminal. Teachers manage and collaborate with their class in one place.
csroom.orgAffordable virtual server hosting, originally built for Minecraft. birdflop.com also hosts free tools for server developers, including a timings analyzer and a code-sharing platform.

Birdflop's revenue comes from hosting and donations. Together, these sources cover the hardware, colocation, and software licenses behind our offerings.
Hosting prices on birdflop.com are set to cover costs and further the mission, with excess profit redistributed to customers.
Donations help fund our free programs directly. CS Room has server costs for every student and no revenue of its own, so donations keep it free as it grows.
Donations enable us to provide free educational tools and accessible technology.
